INCREMENTAL and CUMULATIVE backups Practical

INCREMENTAL and CUMULATIVE backups:-

Database= Prod
Sql> exit

prod]$ mkdir backup

~]$ rman target / catalog vcat1/vcat1@tocat

RMAN> backup incremental level 0 database;

RMAN> backup incremental level 0 database format '/u01/home/prod/backup/full_incre_level_0_%U'; 

RMAN> backup incremental level 1 database;

RMAN> backup incremental level 2 database;

RMAN> list backup summary;

RMAN>exit

~]$ cd prod/

prod]$ cd backup

backup]$ pwd

backup]$ sqlplus / as sysdba

SQL> select * from v$block_change_tracking;                      (STATUS=DISABLED)

SQL> alter database enable block change tracking using file '/u01/home/prod/backup/bchange.trc';

SQL> select * from v$block_change_tracking;                      (STATUS=ENABLED)

SQL> exit

$mkdir bktrc

]$ sqlplus / as sysdba

Sql>alter database enable block change tracking using file ‘/u01/home/bktrc/bktrc.trc’;

SQL> exit

backup]$ rman target / catalog vcat1/vcat1@tocat

RMAN> backup incremental level 1 database;

RMAN> backup cumulative incremental level 2 database;

RMAN> backup cumulative incremental level 0 database;

RMAN> exit
